Your Mental Health Matters
The University System of Georgia (USG) launched a comprehensive Mental Health Initiative to significantly expand student mental health services during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Mental Health Initiative expands USG clinical resources to ensure every student has access to telephonic psychiatric care and clinical counseling services. Expanded services will also a 24/7 hotline and well-being support programs through Uwill. Through a partnership with the JED Foundation, each institution will work on a four year strategic plan centered around student mental health awareness and response. East Georgia State College received grant funding from the USG Mental Health Initiative for employee and student mental health training and awareness programs, and for the purchase of student case management software. EGSC, in partnership with Uwill, provides a wellness hub, Live Well@EGSC. EGSC’s partnership with the JED Foundation and strategic plan work is ongoing.
