Welcome! We can't wait to meet you!
Jeff Waller
ACE-Swainsboro Coordinator
Why did you choose EGSC?
I chose EGSC because I believe strongly in the college’s access mission. I was also
drawn to EGSC’s small-campus environment and family-like atmosphere, which I believe
are important aspects that enhance the college’s ability to serve our students on
a more personal level.
How do you serve students?
One the most important duties I have as the coordinator of the ACE Swainsboro is to
pair the student seeking help with the right tutor. The ACE has an outstanding group
of tutors who have the skill sets to help students succeed at EGSC.
What advice would you give to students?
We all need a little help at times. You are in college to learn, so do not be afraid
to ask a staff member in the ACE for help.

Why did you choose EGSC?
I chose East Georgia State College because it is within Georgia counties with rural
towns and communities and the college grounds and buildings are beautiful. Also, East
Georgia State College offers students the opportunity to become ready to successfully
achieve a college education which can dramatically transform their adult life. There
are so many levels of inspiration here.
How do you serve students?
As the student success coach, I help students develop skills, behaviors and habits
that contribute to success in college. These includes academic and career goal setting,
learning strategies, time management and organization, self-regulation, and self-efficacy.
What advice would you give to students?
Don’t stop shining because someone is intimidated by your light.

Why did you choose EGSC?
I chose EGSC because of the sense of community it offers and the opportunity it provides
me to mentor, guide, and uplift young professionals as they develop into their full
potential both personally and professionally.
How do you serve students?
I am a student advocate who anticipates academic and career needs while offering real-world
solutions for study organization, time management, and college success. I also collaborate
with faculty and staff, connect students with resources, and create strategies that
balance student life and enhance the overall EGSC experience.
What advice would you give to students?
As part of your educational journey, time management, goal setting, and work ethic
are all very important. Be patient, prioritize your workload, realize possibilities,
and create a conducive environment, while remembering to have an enjoyable experience.

Why did you choose EGSC?
I wanted to work at a place where I could make a difference in the lives of college
students. Having the opportunity to get to know our students while also assisting
them in their educational journey and ultimately seeing them succeed is always a special
moment.
How do you serve our students?
I strive to be the first place students come to if they have questions or need help.
I certainly don’t know all the answers, but if I don’t know the answer, I can find
the person who does.
What advice would you give to students?
It sounds simple, but “go to class.” Show up every day, even the days you don’t want
to be there (especially the days you don’t want to be there.) You’ll be amazed at
how much easier things are by just showing up.

Why did you choose EGSC?
I chose EGSC for lots of reasons. I felt it was the institution that would give me
the most opportunity to work directly with students to help them reach their goals.
I could tell the staff had passion for working with students. I immediately felt welcomed
by everyone. I felt I could be helpful to our students, and that was what I was looking
for.
How do you serve our students?
As a Student Success Coach, I have the opportunity to work with students in many different
ways. I want to help them with goal setting, just listening, study strategies, time
management, and help with course recommendations, as well as learning how to navigate
higher education. I am on this path with our students to help them grow, learn and
become a global citizen that makes an impact.
What advice would you give to students?
Dream big, stretch yourself, grow in your learning. Seek help, learn to collaborate
and two heads really are better than one, so ASK.
