This Agreement is made by and between the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia by and on behalf of East Georgia State College ("College") and the undersigned Pageant Contestant ("Contestant"). Contestant refers to students competing for the Miss East Georgia State college title or the Mr. East Georgia State College title.
For and in consideration of the opportunity to compete for the Mr. East Georgia State College or Miss East Georgia State College 2022 title, scholarship and other benefits to be awarded to the winners of each contest, Contestant does hereby agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Assumption of Risk, Waiver and Release: Contestant Acknowledges and agrees that participation in the Mr. or Miss East Georgia State College 2022 Pageant (hereinafter “Pageant”) is not a requirement of his or her course of study and his or her participation is purely voluntary. As such, Contestant agrees to assume all risks involved with his or her participation in the Pageant and with his/her reign should he/she win the pageant. In consideration of the professional and educational enrichment that he/she will derive from participation in the Pageant, Contestant does hereby, for himself/herself, his/her heirs, executors and administrators, and assigns, waive, release, covenant not to sue and forever discharge the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia, East Georgia State College and their members, agents, servants and employees (collectively referred to as the College) of and from any and all manner of action of actions, causes or causes of action, including, but not limited to negligence, suits, debts, accounts, damages, claims and demands of any kind whatsoever which I have or may acquire by reason of injury, damage or harm to person while participating in the Pageant. Further, I agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the College from any and all claims, demands and/or causes of action arising out of my own actions while participating in the Pageant and/or during my reign as Mr. or Miss East Georgia State College 2022, if so chosen.
- Both parties agree that participating as a contestant in the Pageant is a privilege. Contestant must meet both character and academic qualifications in order to be eligible to compete and represent East Georgia State College. Contestants with prior student conduct findings and/ or pending student conduct charges are not eligible to compete in the Pageant. Failure of Contestant to comply with the EGSC Code of Conduct at any time during the application, competition or during his or her reign will result in the ineligibility to compete and/or loss of the Mr./ Miss EGSC title and crown. The academic qualifications are noted within this contract. In addition, mandatory appearances and other requirements as noted in this contract must be adhered to by the Contestant and if crowned, by Mr. /Miss EGSC. Failure to meet any of the requirements of this contract will result in ineligibility to compete and/or loss of the Mr./Miss EGSC title and crown.
- Contestant must participate in the mandatory pageant practice on April 8th,2022 at 6PM in order to be eligible to compete in the Mr./Miss East Georgia State College 2022 pageant on April 9th,2022 from 1PM - 6PM.
- To be eligible to compete in the Mr./Miss East Georgia State College Pageant, Contestant must meet the following qualifications:

- Be between ages 17 – 24;
- Be single and never been married or had his/her marriage annulled;
- Must not be pregnant or expecting a child;
- Meet character criteria as set forth by the EGSC Pageant Board;
- Be in reasonably good health to meet the job requirements;
- Have no prior student conduct findings and/or pending student conduct charges;
- Be able to meet the time commitments and job responsibilities as set forth in this agreement
- Be a registered and enrolled EGSC student with cumulative GPA of 2.0 at the time of application;
- Be a registered and enrolled EGSC student for at least 12 credit hours for Spring 2022; and
- Dual Enrollment students must be registered and enrolled for 12 credit hours for Spring 2022.
- The contestant, if crowned as Mr./Miss East Georgia State College 2022, must maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA during his/ her reign. Failure to maintain a cumulative 2.0 GPA and fulfill title responsibilities will result in revocation of the Mr./Miss East Georgia State College title and scholarship funds awarded. If scholarship funds have been paid at the time of the revocation, the College may take actions as noted in paragraph 9. Unless the winner graduates during his/her year of service, any plans not to be enrolled at EGSC during his/her year of service must be approved by the Pageant Director.
- The Mr./Miss East Georgia State College 2022 Pageant format will include the following phases:

- Interview 30%
- Evening Wear 25%
- On-Stage Question 15%

Contestant agrees to participate in all phases of the Mr./Miss East Georgia State College 2022 pageant.
- If selected as the winner of the Mr./Miss East Georgia State College 2022 Pageant, Contestant agrees to:

- Make the following mandatory Mr./Miss East Georgia State College 2022 appearances:
- Represent EGSC at the Pine Tree Festival including riding on EGSC Float,
- Represent EGSC at the Swainsboro Christmas Parade and ride on the EGSC Float;
- Attend EGSC Foundation events as requested;
- Attend EGSC and community events as requested by EGSC;
- Represent EGSC at such other events as determined by the Pageant Director;
- Practice, Events and Competition for Miss East Georgia State College 2023 in March or April 2023;
- Conduct himself/herself at all times during his/her reign as Mr./Miss East Georgia State College 2022 in a manner that reflects positively upon himself/ herself and East Georgia State College;
- Respond to phone calls and e-mail messages from Board members within 48 hours;
- Give at least 24 hours notice that he/she will be unable to attend a scheduled function, and may only cancel in case of emergency or serious illness. Mr./Miss East Georgia State College must speak directly with a Board member to cancel an appearance; text messaging and e-mail are not acceptable means of cancellation;
- Have pre-approved by the Mr./Miss East Georgia State College Board of Directors all official appearances and all wardrobe for those appearances;
- Write thank you notes for all gifts and cards received and in response to all official appearances he/she makes during his/her reign within two weeks of the event;
- At all times represent himself/herself and East Georgia State College in a dignified manner on any public or privately-accessible information sources (such as, but not limited to, Facebook, Twitter, message boards, personal websites and blogs, etc., and whether by photo or comments posted):
- Provide prior notification to the Mr./Miss East Georgia State College Pageant Director of entry into any competitive pageant; and
- Raise funds to promote the Contestants Community Service Project.
- Make the following mandatory Mr./Miss East Georgia State College 2022 appearances:
- Mr./Miss East Georgia State College 2022 winners will each receive a $400 scholarship to be awarded during Fall semester, 2022. In each respective contest for Mr./ Miss East Georgia State College, first runner up will receive $200 scholarship and second runner up will receive $100 scholarship. Mr. /Miss East Georgia State College 2022 must be enrolled as a fulltime student for Fall semester 2022. Mr./Miss East Georgia State College 2022 scholarship recipients must apply for receipt of his/her scholarship money to East Georgia State College Student Government Association, no later than June 1, 2022. East Georgia State College Foundation Inc., will award a $100 scholarship to Mr./Miss East Georgia State College 2022, subject to the above application and enrollment deadlines.
- Contestant understands and acknowledges that all or part of the Mr./Miss East Georgia State College scholarship money may be revoked by the College as the result of missed mandatory appearances or conduct unbecoming the Mr./Miss East Georgia State College 2022 title, as determined in the sole discretion of the Mr./Miss East Georgia State College Board of Directors. If the scholarship has already been paid, then the College may place a Hold on the Contestant's student account until reimbursement of the revoked amount has been repaid to the College. A hold will result in the Contestant's inability to register, graduate or obtain a transcript.
